The earasaid (aka erasaid or arisaid) is essentially the female version of the greatkilt. Weared on a sub-robe, the earasaid can be very versatile. It can be worn long or short, for heat or for style.
The perfect compliment to any period costume. The folding instructions are included with each ear. The earasaid has less tissue in it than a big kilt. Why because the earasaid usually does not wrap completely around the front like a greatkilt, and it has less folds. A earasaid usually has just a few large folds in the back, sometimes even just grouped-up instead of pleated.I say generally and generally because the earasaid is so versatile, you can wear it as you wish. We make three different sizes of earasaid (2.5 yd, 3 yd, and 4 yd). There are two basic faons that you can choose to wear an earasaid.
What size you choose depends on your size, and how you want to wear your earasaid. Method #1: The ear will be carried from the knee to the length of the average calf (maximum of about 27 inches long). You should be able to bring tissue on one shoulder or both, and the pin on the front.
You should have a lot of folds, and enough tissue meet at the front, or overlap a bit if you want. A 2.5-yard earasaid will fit up to about 34 inches in size, a 3-yard earasaid will fit up to about 40 inches in size, and a 4-yard earasaid will fit up to 40+ inches in size. Method #2: the ear will be worn floor length. You should be able to bring fabric over your head if you want, and the pin like a hooded coat.Wearing this fawn, you will be limited by the width of the fabric. You can make your ear fit almost any size, but you will only have a few folds, and just enough fabric to meet the front (perhaps).
This method works better with an eorasaid 2.5 yd. You can make it work a 3 or (perhaps) 4 yard earasaid, but you end up with too much tissue to treat over your head and shoulders.
